Mizusashi: Vintage Cold Water Container, Mishima Style
Product Description
This is a vintage Japanese Mizusashi (fresh water container) which is used for tea ceremony. This piece incorporates the mishima style of decoration. It was made about 30 years ago.
Mashima-ware designs typically use brown pottery, which is coated with light gray glaze. The pattern is then incused into the surface, and a final layer of glaze is applied.
The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom of this piece. The condition of this piece is excellent: no chips; no cracks.
